Trying to delay his beloved wife’s death, he challenged the gods and in return for his folly he was banished in a cave for the longest of times, condemned to hear the women and men in the world forever wishing for time to stop, or to last longer.

Eventually, his freedom is granted upon the accomplishment of a task: he must teach the true meaning of time to a young girl and an old man. He owns now a magical hourglass, that he can use to slow and even to stop time, which he does in order to complete his mission and be free.
