I am no great fan of graphic novels, but I loved this one! The illustrations are wonderful, and the story is really powerful.

Noah dreams of endless rain.

Biblical myths and personal characterization are intertwined and the result is somehow unexpected.

The city of Babylon.
Noah tries to warn the inhabitans.

The Flood has come.

Noah is a very torn man, and on his battle to save the world from its inhabitants' lack of humanity, he surely loses his own.

Noah is sure God's plan is to wipe all human beings out.

All one can hope for, is for him to realize he's loved and forgiven nonetheless, and finally find peace in the arms of his own family.
Too bad there was no rainbow!

The new land, after the waters have receded.

Non sono un'appassionata di graphic novel, ma questa mi è piaciuta moltissimo!
Le illustrazioni sono meravigliose, e la storia è molto potente. I miti biblici si intrecciano con una caratterizzazione dei personaggi molto personale e il risultato è piuttosto inaspettato. Noè è un uomo molto combattuto, e nella sua lotta per liberare il mondo dalla mancanza di umanità dei suoi abitanti, di certo perde la sua.
Si può solo sperare che Noè, alla fine, si renda conto di essere amato e perdonato e riesca a trovare pace all'interno della propria famiglia.
Peccato che non sia stato inserito il dettaglio dell'arcobaleno!
